USAID Office of American Schools and Hospitals Abroad
The Office of American Schools and Hospitals Abroad supports overseas schools, libraries and hospital centers to demonstrate the best in American educational and medical technologies and practices. ASHA-assisted institutions support recipient countries with socioeconomic development and poverty reduction through training programs and serve as models of advanced practices and methodologies. These institutions, founded and supported by United States citizens, are study and demonstration sites of U.S. education and medical achievements that also prepare future leaders. ASHA grants serve to strengthen recipient institutions by expanding and enhancing medical and academic services offered to indigenous citizens abroad.
