USAID funded Pakistan Reading Project
The USAID funded Pakistan Reading Project being implemented by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a five-year initiative to support the provincial and regional Departments of Education (DoE) to improve the quality of reading in public and private schools in Pakistan. The key indicator of success is 4 million primary school students reading at a level commensurate with standards at their grade level. The project is working through three distinct but interrelated components to affect the quality of primary education, including teacher education, policy reforms and community engagement to ultimately promote a national culture of reading in Pakistan.
